How does color masterbatch benefit the plastic manufacturing field?

Using color masterbatch in plastic product manufacturing helps the producers taking advantages in many aspects. Due to using good quality colorant with high color concentration, it will be easy for the plastic manufacturers to use directly in the mixing processes, in general saving both the processing time and production cost. As a result, final products can have stable color shade, good light fastness and heat resistance delivered by excellent color dispersion ability. Moreover, coloring plastic by this method does not cause any bad influence on the environment.

Using color masterbatch to create beautiful look for familiar products

Color masterbacth is frequently applied in a wide range of industries and fields. Its most common application is film blowing to plastic bags with multiple purposes. It can be shopping bag, garbage bage, food-storing bags, etc. Fabric, both woven and non-woven, making cloth, sack or FIBC (flexible intermediate bulk container) is another application of color masterbatch.

By implementing different method in manufacturing plastic products, it is easily for producers to generate various types of things, from film sheet (created by extrusion molding) to household appliances (such as can, bottle, tray, box, etc.) and furniture (table, chair, lamp, etc.) by injection or blow molding.

How superior EuP’s color masterbatch is compared to other similar products from different brand names?

Color masterbatch with brand name Europlas is specially formulated in which each component is carefully calculated to perfectly suitable with what Customers requested. Besides carrier resin (which is diverse in in types such as PP, PE, PS, etc.), pigment is the most important ingredient contributed to the unique difference of this masterbatch. In purpose to improve functional properties of the base resin, several proper processing additives such as zinc, oil, wax, etc. are added into the mixture. Additionally, to reduce the incurred costs during color masterbatch production, some masterbatch manufacturing companies usually use CaCO3 filler as the alternative material.

EuP is proud to be top 5 biggest producers in masterbatch manufacturing industry. Our products are processed with the best quality materials and advanced technologies. We are capable to generate 2 production lines for white masterbatch, 7 production lines for black masterbatch and various color masterbatch from high quality raw material resources with 100% virgin resin that brings a smooth surface with good printability to the final products. Not only has excellent dispersion, all kinds of products at EuP are guaranteed to have uniform and stable quality in every batch. Each masterbatch granules is cut evenly in a unique sharp sizing 3 x 3 mm.

How was color masterbatch under brand-name EuroPlas controlled in quality?

In order to deliver best masterbatch for our Customers, EuP always focuses in satisfying requirements about quality in masterbatch manufacturing in every category. First of all, the most important criterion to evaluate a color masterbatch is how well it can disperse in the plastic mixtures. Plastic colorants with better dispersion can give the final product a smoother surface and a better color fastness which enable them to withstand in harsh weather conditions.

Besides the dispersion of pigment, color of masterbatch also depends on temperature during processing, duration of manufacturing procedure and the surrounding environment including sunlight, oxygen, temperature, humidity, etc. Qualified color masterbatch also achieve good heat resistance, which is the ability to maintain the original status and properties in a certain temperature condition in a certain period of time.

Furthermore, if you use dye rather than pigment to color masterbatch, you may need to consider the immigration of color as it usually happens with this type of colorant.

Some issues in color masterbatch’s dispersion you may concern

Although the masterbatch manufacturing line in EuP is strictly managed with a precise procedure established following international standards, the dispersion issue is ineluctable. Sometimes the pigment added into the resin can’t be completely dispersed causing small dark spots and clumps in the surface of product.

Another problem in color masterbatch production is ithat final product does not achieve the exact color requested. This could be caused by the quality of pigments. Different types of pigments came from different suppliers require different dosage. Their ability to disperse and display the color are also depended in the quality and ratio of pigments used. In addition, some color pigments have bad heat resistance, leading to the alteration in color performance. As consequence, the final product does not achieve the right color it supposes to be.

The nature as well as the composition of color masterbatch also affect the quality of masterbatch colorants and cause the color difference. To be more specific, the existence of admixtures in pigment or base resin induces color imperfection. Using off-grade resin is also a reason causing this problem.

However, at EuP, our experts and technical team are always trying the best to avoid these matters by paying more attention in controlling the manufacturing systems, importing European standard machinery imported from Germany and using high-quality products in the whole processes.
